Privacy Policy for md2kdp

md2kdp (“the App”) is a document conversion tool developed by Hovrak. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles your information. The short version: the App has no backend server, no user accounts, and does not collect or transmit your personal data to us or any third party.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

The App does not create user accounts and does not send your documents, file contents, or personal information to any server operated by us. All document conversion (DOCX, TXT, and Markdown to Markdown, PDF, and EPUB) happens entirely on your device, offline.

2. Documents You Import

Files you import from your device or from Google Drive are processed locally on your device and stored only in the App’s private storage on your device. They are never uploaded to us.

3. Google Drive Access

If you choose to connect your Google account, the App requests read-only access to your Google Drive (drive.readonly scope) for the sole purpose of letting you browse and import your own Google Docs, which are then converted to Markdown on your device.

  • The Google access token is stored securely on your device only (Android Keystore via Expo SecureStore) and is used only to list and export the documents you select.
  • The token is never transmitted to us. You can disconnect at any time from within the App, which deletes the stored token.
  • Google Drive data accessed by the App is used only to provide the import feature and is not shared, sold, or used for advertising.

4. Google API Services — Limited Use Disclosure

md2kdp’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data obtained from Google Drive is used solely to provide and improve the in-app document import feature and is processed only on your device.

5. Data Storage and Security

All app data (imported documents, recent files, and any Google access token) is stored locally on your device. Uninstalling the App removes this data.

6. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
